On Tuesday 30 June (probably today as you read this!) I will be attending a conference hosted by the Institute for Public Policy Research (ippr) entitled Fitting the Bill: a one day conference on the future of policing in the UK.
It's a first for me, as the ippr have very kindly given me, as a blogger, a press pass to the event. So, I will be blogging about what is said and discussed. I will also be tweeting from the event. Noted on Twitter throughout the day. I like the comment about David Hanson calling for NHP Inspector stability - rich coming from the 3rd Policing Minister in 3 years! The Home Office pot was raided (along with others) for funds yesterday for building affordable housing, so we can be more sure than ever that there won't be any more money than we've got now coming to policing any time soon. That makes it inevitable that matters will get money spent on them based on risk assessment basis.
